A former Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Jonas Okeke, has officially picked the expression of interest / nomination form, to contest for the Okigwe South Reps. Seat in 2023, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Rt Hon Okeke who picked the form at the national secretarait of the party, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, on Wednesday, March 23, was accompanied by the leadership of his campaign team.

Gunmen kill Horticulturist during attack in Imo

Gunmen on Saturday night murdered a horticulturist, Kingsley Nwachukwu, at Nweke market square in Nkwerre community in the Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo state.

It was gathered from that the fleeing gunmen had finished robbing a nearby trader and were fleeing when the opened fire at a group of young men hanging out at a nearby pulp.

Nwachukwu who hailed from Amaegbu Umulolo village was hit by one of the stray bullets released by the criminals and he died on the spot.
