The governorship candidate of Mass Action Joint Alliance (MAJA) party is blazing the trail with promises of better days ahead, amidst wide acceptance, support and solidarity by a cross section if Imolites who are in dire need of credible, purposeful and result oriented governance in 2019.
The U.K based Lawyer and Corporate Consultant, on Friday 7th December 2018, visited members of Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Imo State chapter, at their new Owerri secretariat, to feel their pulse, express his concern for their plight and deplorable state of affairs in the state.
The pensioners expressed gratitude for his visit and commended his unrivalled humility, antecedents and undented track record which they say, give him an edge over the governorship candidates of other political parties. They assured him that their numeric strength, contacts and wide spread tentacles are electoral assets for a seasoned administrator, credible and trusted candidate of his calibre.
They decried how they have been subjected to hunger, lack and deprivation, arising from non payment of accumulated arrears of their pensions and gratuity by the present government, despite the enormous recourses that have accrued to the state in the past 8 years.
Responding, Barr. Osuji empathized with and urged them support his ambition. He promised to wipe their tears and ensured prompt payment of pensions and gratuity in addition to building an old peoples home in the state, if he becomes governor in 2019.
He also unveiled his manifesto which includes job creation, building of cuttage industries in the 27 LGAs, provision of quality and accessible education and health care services, ensure security and property through youth empowerment and enabling environment for self actualization provide alternative and efficient power supply to boost socio-economic development.
Barr. Osuji also promised to run an all inclusive government that will, aside being hinged on due process, rule of law, justice and fairness will place much premium on prudence and accountability by blocking all financial leakages with a view to conserving funds to fast track infrastructural development of the state. “As a lawyer, I will ensure that ail acts of injustice, impunity, recklessness and abuse of office are lawfully reviewed, the victims7 feelings assuaged and culprits brought to book”.
The Director General of Barr. Osuji’s Imo Reformers Campaign Organization, Hon Chikezie Oguejiofor, said his principal’s governorship ambition is a divine project that is motivated by the zeal to liberate Imolites from bondage, enthrone good, credible and quality governance. “Imolites have suffered so much in the hands of professional and recycled politicians who don’t have their interest at heart. There is therefore need for an experienced technocrat, a visionary and tested manager of men and resources like Barr. Aloysius Osuji to govern Imo State in 2019.
It will be recalled that the state publicity secretary of United Progressive Party (UPP), Comrade Sixtus Okechukwu resigned his position recently and defected to MAJA party, and is now the spokes person for Barr, Aloysius Osuji’s Campaign Organization. He attributed his resignation to irreconcilable differences that pricked his conscience.
