Ahead of the awaited Local Government Council election in Imo State, the African Democratic Congress, ADC in Mbaitoli LGA of the State, has sworn in members of the newly constituted executive council of the party in Amaike-Mbieri ward in the area, with a call on the executives to live up the expectations of ADC faithful and constitution of the party.
Addressing party supporters, shortly before the inauguration of the excos, chairman of the party in the LGA, Chief Chris Opara, said that, the essence is to reposition the party for greater efficiencies in the next year, 2019 general election, as well as, consolidate on the grassroots in order to clinch desired victory in the Local Government Council election in Imo State, fixed for July, 2018.
Opara, further informed that, he joined the race for the chairmanship of Mbaitoli Local Government Area council with the primary objective to rehabilitate the Nwaorieubi-Mbieri road, which he noted, has suffered abject abandonment among other basic infrastructures begging to be put in place in Mbaitoii LGA over time.
Also speaking during the event, councillorship aspirant of the ADC for Amaike ward, Mrs Chinyere Echeanyanwu, who commended members of the constituted exco for their worthiness to serve the party in the ward, however, maintained that her aspiration was informed by the reason to reward the people of their good deeds to her by way of effective representation if elected councilor of the ward in the awaited LGA Council election.
The occasion witnessed the issuance of certificate to the chairman of the party in Mbaitoli LGA, Mr Kenneth Onyewuchi, and eleven members of the Amaike ward executives ADC, who were warned against anti-party activities, revocation of their certificates as party officials.
