National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has called on members of the party to remain calm, adding that every misunderstanding affecting the party would be treated internally and resolved.
Anyanwu said this while reacting to the attempted disruption of the Board of Trustees meeting at the National Secretariat of the party, Wadata Plaza, Abuja on Wednesday.
According to him, “no crisis is beyond amicable resolution. This can only be achieved when individuals involved approach issues with love. I am a peace maker and a risk taker, therefore anything capable of dividing our party will never be tolerated”
Anyanwu further condemned the attempted invasion of the party’s premises by political thugs suspected to have been hired by former National Youth leader of the party, Hon Udeh Sunday Okoye, and pleaded with security officials and leaders of the party affected by the imbroglio to forgive.
While advising Hon Okoye and his supporters to approach issues with respect and dignity for the party, saying that negative actions of members no matter how highly placed and considered to be detrimental to the unity of the party should be avoided.
He further described the behavior of supposed leaders of the party during the meeting of BoT as absurd, embarrassing and childish, advising any aggrieved person or persons to always play within legal rules.
The National Secretary therefore urged all members affected in the widely condemned disruption to forgive, assuring of the party’s readiness to treat the matter in line with the provisions of the party’s constitution.
