IHEKWEME: Ex-Imo Commissioner Abducted, Wife Fingers Uzodinma

The immediate past Commissioner for Foreign Affairs in Imo state, Fabian Ihekweme, has been abducted by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

In a viral video online, the wife of the former aide to the Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma said her husband was Kidnapped on Wednesday afternoon at their home.

She however in the video accused Governor Uzodinma of being behind the husband’s abduction as she alleged that the men who abducted the husband said they had been trailing her, the husband and their Children.

She said: “This afternoon, Hope Uzodimma the governor of Imo State sent some unknown men to come pick up my husband.

“They first of all picked up my husband’s driver and told my husband’s driver that they know my shop, described my shop, described what I do, described my children and they took him to my house and gave him his phone to call him and when he came out, they picked him up.

“Ndi Imo should anything happen to my family, please hold Governor Hope Uzodimma responsible.

“I don’t know why they are trailing me, I don’t have any business with Imo politics, I don’t know why they are trailing my children, they know my children, they know where they school, they told us all of this.

“So should anything happen to Fabian Ihekweme or happen to me or happen to my children, hold Governor Hope Uzodimma responsible.

“He is holding my husband as I speak to you right now and I can’t reach my husband, I don’t know where they took him.”

In recent times, the former aide has been a big critic of the government and was accused by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba of demanding N500m to stop his attacks on the government.

The Imo State Governor has not reacted to the allegation and attempts to speak with the commissioner for information were unsuccessful.
