Ihekweme Gives Conditions To Stop Attack  On Imo Gov:  Return to Imo In 3 Days, Tackle Bad Roads, Food Crisis, Insecurity

…” Stay home, address our problems, pay  pensioners”

A former commissioner in Imo State, Dr Fabian Ihekweme has urged Governor Hope Uzodinma to   concentrate on addressing the pertinent issues  and challenges confronting the state, including what he described as  food crisis, road rehabilitation, insecurity as well as pay arrears of salaries and  pensions.

The ex-commissioner gave the above conditions to the incumbent governor as a result of numerous calls from Senior citizens and Political personalities for him to stop further media campaign against alleged misgovernance in the state.

Ihekweme, who served as a commissioner during Governor Uzodinma’s first term in office, has been critical of the governor in recent times.

Imo government has however, hit back at Ihekweme portraying him as a political jobber as well as accusing him of allegedly demanding  a whooping N500 million from the governor, if he must stop further media  campaign against  Governor Uzodinma.

Governor Uzodinma’s Information Commissioner, Declan Mbadiwe  Emelumba was quoted as saying that Ihekweme had made contacts with friends of the governor offering to “cease fire” if his N500 million demand was met.

Ihekweme in his recent post on social media platforms, claimed that he has received “numerous calls  from some senior citizens and respected political personalities” asking him to  cease further media criticisms of the governor.

He also said  that as a result of  the alleged calls he has so far received, he would stop criticism of the governor for three days.

He went ahead  however  to hint that he would not criticise the governor within the three days which  he said, were for ‘truce.’

Ihekweme however, declared:  “if by Monday

the governor fails to start showing seriousness by returning home and start addressing developmental issues in the state , the campaign against misgovernance will be stepped up
