Ugochinyere Calls On PDP NEC To Sack Wike, Damagun, Others; Save Party From Collapse

…Says: 2 more govs, 40 lawmakers set to decamp

The member representing Ideato North/South federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere has raised  alarm over what he described as looming mass defection of political office holders elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP.

Ugochinyere attributed the development to disenchantment over alleged ineptitude of the present party leadership.

He therefore called on the National Executive Committee, NEC, to immediately convene a meeting where according to him, the trio of Nyesom Wike, Umar  Damagun and Samuel Anyanwu would be expelled in order to save the party

The federal lawmaker  who is also the spokesman of Nigeria Lawmakers Opposition Coalition, stated this weekend, when he addressed a press conference with crowd of PDP supporters present at his Akokwa country home, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo  State, expressed fear that two more  governors and 40 lawmakers elected on the party’s platform could leave the party any time soon.

Ugochinyere heaped the blame over the current situation in the PDP,  on the party’s national chairman,  Damagun,  Anyanwu and the FCT Minister,  Wike.

He accused Damagun of alleged deliberate prevarication by repeatedly failing to convene a NEC meeting of the party to enable the party choose a substantive national chairman from the north central.

Ugochinyere regretted that PDP, which he described as the biggest opposition political party in Africa, was gradually going under due to activities of some members whom he accused of brazen anti-party.

He announced Chris Odoemena as the Acting National Chairman of the Imo PDP.

Ugochinyere wondered how a man who failed election in Labour Party would  turn round to claim the state chairmanship of Imo PDP.

Ugochinyere equally raised alarm over alleged plot to declare his seat vacant by those he said, were hellbent on destroying PDP.

He also wondered what reason anybody has  to declare his seat in the House of Representatives vacant.
