Ehime Mbano LG Boss, Nwodu commissions New Administrative Block, Office Equipment.

The commissioning of the new Administrative Block, furniture, tables and chairs built and procured by the Executive Chairman, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, Hon Chief Uche Francis Nwodu has taken place recently at the council headquarters’ premisses.

Speaking with newsmen on the occasion, Hon Chief Uche Nwodu says among the 27 Local Government Area of the state, Ehime Mbano was the worst hit in terms of End SARS crisis.

Hon Nwodu revealed that when he assumed office last few months, there was nothing in the council, adding that they met a forest, and there was no light, pointing out that his office was empty, and was occupied by the military.    He noted that his interest then was to recover the local government and make it look like others.

The Executive Chairman maintained that he was motivated to build the Administrative Block for the Vice Chairman, the Leader and Councilors of the council because they had nowhere to relax and do their work as every structure then was vandalized including the tables and chairs.

He further stated that they decided to enbark on people oriented projects, having electrified the place

According to him, “This Local Government was vandalized, workers were not coming to work. I had to put life to this LGA. The council hall was vandalized. Today, we have fixed it. I built a brand new office block for the Leader and councilors. One of the things we did was welfare. We distributed  600 bags of rice to indigent people, sponsored by the local government.

The borehole  here was moribund, I rehabilitated it. I renovated the corps members lodge which was unfortunately vandalized three weeks ago.

We graded roads, over three roads in each of the wards in the local government. At least every year, roads should be maintained after the rainy season”.

Within November, December last year and January 2025, I was able to cage this local government and there was no record of insecurity.we are not relenting in terms of security, we have invested more in security”

Speaking while commissioning the projects, the Chairman Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Okigwe  zone and Executive Chairman, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area,  Chika Okoroike says peer review mechanism  ensures competitiveness and brings more development in various LGAs in the state.

He expressed delight to witness the projects executed by the Chairman, assuring him that more LGAs are coming up to embark on similar projects because they are in the 3R mantra of Governor Uzodinma to achieve the governor’s agenda.

The Okigwe zonal ALGON boss also commended Hon Chief Nwodu for his willingness to deliver administratively, stressing that with his peer review mechanism, there are some things he saw at Ehime Mbano LGA which he is going to implement in his own local government, Isiala Mbano.

He recalled that the last time he came to Ehime Mbano LGA, they were perching, but now according to him, the environment is bubbling while the military men are working comfortably.

Hon.Evang. Okoroike appreciated Hon Chief Uche Nwodu whom he described as his brother and friend, according to him, “Okigwe zone is doing well , Ehime for instance, I know the cost effectiveness of this and I appreciate him for doing this. From this you know the truth and speak it and bring dividends of democracy to Ehime Mbano. God will make you lift the name of the state government. We appreciate Governor Hope Uzodimma for making this become manifest. I assure you that we have just started, you shall see wonders”
