Enugu Govt Launches Free Tech Skills Training Programme for Job Seekers

The Enugu State Government, in collaboration with the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme, has announced the launch of the Enugu Tech Talent (ETT) Programme, aimed at providing free training in computer and technology skills to young people across the state.

Arinze Chilo-Offiah, Special Adviser on MSMEs & Digital Economy and Director-General of the Enugu SME Center stated, “This programme is a significant opportunity for our youth, aged 18 to 35, to acquire essential tech skills that can lead to better job opportunities and empower them to start their own businesses or work online.”

The ETT Programme is designed to cater to a diverse range of participants, including students, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, apprentices, traders, and job seekers. Importantly, it is inclusive of those living in rural areas or those just beginning their journey with computers.

Participants will receive comprehensive training over four months, covering a variety of in-demand skills such as:

Software Development: Building websites and software
– Data Science and Analysis: Understanding and using data effectively
– UI/UX Design: Designing user interfaces and experiences for apps and websites
– Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Using advanced technology to solve problems
– Product Management: Managing technology products from conception to launch

“The skills taught in this programme are critical in today’s job market,” Chilo-Offiah added. “We are committed to equipping our youth with the tools they need to thrive in a digital economy.”
