…As World Ecumenical Council honours Lemchi

Most Rev Goodwin Lemchi of the Archdiocese of Okigwe Province, Zion Mountain Bible Church Ezihe Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State, has held her 2025 Mother’s Sunday celebration .
Speaking on the theme: “Mothers Worth To Be Celebrated Dead Or Alive,” during a church service to mark the occasion, Most Rev. Lemchi emphasized on the significance of celebrating mothers, respecting their roles at all times, adding that children should honour and celebrate their mothers, whether they are living or deceased, because of their sacrifices and vital roles in families and churches.
“Respecing mothers leads to receiving blessings from them.
Unique role of mothers cannot be compared to those of wives; they tirelessly work for their children’s survival and well-being,
“Mothers are the pillars of home including churches.” He reminded them that as mothers, they require care and pampering, which can contribute to longer, healthier lives.
, The clergy man advised mothers to embody Christian values,
live lives worthy of emulation, strive to be role models, demonstrating Christian values and behaviour as well as avoid behaviours that do not align with Christian principles. He admonished them to opt for a lifestyle that reflects their faith, repent from ungodly behaviours, while recognizing that the Kingdom of God is real even as their actions have consequences.
He emphasized that mothers should dress modestly, presenting themselves in a way that reflects their Christian values and train their children in Godly ways, teaching them Christian principles and values that will guide them throughout their lives.
He also urged mothers to love, protect, and promote one another’s interests. so as to achieve greatness through unity and collective effort.
“By following these guidelines, mothers can cultivate a strong Christian foundation for themselves and their families, ultimately contributing to a more harmonious and faith-filled communities,” the man of God submited.
The highlight of the event was the birthday celebration of Most Rev Lemchi with the World Ecumenical Council executives,
bishops, ministers, friends, and church members coming together to honour him as a committed servant of God, dedicated to advancing God’s work.
