Shamsuddeen, son of Bala Mohammed, the Bauchi State Governor has urged Seyi Tinubu not to venture into sharing food items in the Northwest state.
The President’s son has been sharing food items for Iftar(breaking of fast) during the ongoing Muslims’ Ramadan in northern part of the country.
The gesture is being met with divided opinions, one of which is allegation that the exercise embarked upon by him is a reflection of the economic hardship his father’s administration imposed on the citizenry.
Some top northerners have also villified it.
Weighing in on the matter, Governor Mohammed’s son, Shamsuddeen, said Tinubu’s son should not come to Bauchi for stomach infrastructure but ‘serious’ empowerment programmes.
“Please, when coming to Bauchi for the #RHYE, empower our youths with employment, Keke NAPEP, monies to start a business, ICT infrastructure and training for crypto trading, and so on.
“Please, we, the youths of Bauchi, don’t need rice and food in nylon bags during Ramadan.
“Teach our youths how to fish rather than feed them for one day. They are not beggars,” he wrote in a post on his Facebook handle.
