Walter Anga to Rivers Politicians: ‘Stop the Chaos before it’s too late!’

Popular Nollywood actor Walter Anga has issued a passionate plea for peace amid the rising political tensions in Rivers State, warning those stoking the flames of conflict that they may not understand the true cost of war.

Taking to social media, Anga, who hails from the Izon ethnic group, reflected on the dark past of his people, recalling the years of violence that once gripped the region.

“As an IZON man, I firmly embrace the roots of my culture and traditions. We are a peaceful people, and I pray to God Almighty to restore peace to my people.

“We have endured wars and street gangsterism from 2001 to 2009. Trust me, it wasn’t a pleasant experience, and I would never want my children and grandchildren to go through something similar,” he wrote.

The actor expressed concern over the political turmoil rocking Rivers State, lamenting that those who now sought to benefit from the crisis have never truly experienced the horrors of conflict.

“Many people benefiting from the current political turmoil in Rivers State today have never experienced these crises; they are simply taking advantage of a failed system, where the lucky few get close to the corridors of power. If only they understood the rhythm of our culture, they would realize they do not want to hear the sound of a WAR DRUM!” he warned.

His post sparked a wave of reactions from fans and followers, many of whom praised his wisdom and called for unity in the state.

One fan commented, “Pls tell them ,” while another added, “This is beautiful and soothing to read.”

Others were surprised to learn of Anga’s heritage, with one follower writing, “Never knew you are Izon… hmm, doo o binawei.”
