…Suspends some exco members

The Imo State Chapter of Labour Party has passed confidence vote on its State Chairman, Callistus Ihejiagwa and Suspended some members of the State Working Committee and others.
The decisions was reached during the party’s State Executive Meeting in Owerri, attended by the State Executive Members, Some National Working Committee Members and 24 Chairmen out of the 27 LGAs along with their secretaries.
The motion for passing vote of confidence in the chairman , according to the mover , Richard Madukwe, was based on the confidence the party have for him and what he described as the transparent manner in which the Chairman has being steering the affairs of the party.
The party, also passed confidence vote in the national chairman of the party, Julius Abure for his magnanimity in ensuring that the party stands on its feet defeating all the legal battles.
Addressing Journalists after the meeting, Ihejiagwa said that some states executive officers and others were suspended following their involvement in trying to create imaginary crisis with the intension of causing disunity among party members.
He accused the suspended members of also going public to discuss internal affairs of the party without first exhausting the party’s constitution an action he described as an act of insubordination and disrepute to the party’s existing principles.
The State Chairman, however, informed that inorder to uphold fair and transparent approach that five member disciplinary committee headed by its first State Deputy Chairman, Queen Osuala was constituted to look into the allegations leveled against the suspended members
which will offer them the opportunity to defend themselves.
On State Governance, Ihejiagwa lamented that Imo citizens are suffering much under the leadership of Hope Uzodinma APC led administration who he accused of governing the State from diaspora.
He urged the Governor to come back to the State so that he can feel and see the rate of hardship faced by the people.
On the issue concerning defections of the party’s elected members, he said that the party leadership at the national level is handling the matter hinting that legal actions have been constituted against them.
He used the moment to address party faithful and Imo electorate assuring them that the party is strong and united in its pursuit of enthroning Democratic Governance in the State and at the National level.
