EZEIMO,EZE (DR) E.C OKEKE AND OTHER LEADERS OF THE TRADITIONAL RULERS’ COUNCIL PRAYED FOR EZE NWACHUKWU’S PEACEFUL AND SUCCESSFUL REIGN
It was obviously in tandem with the popular axiom that holds that nature abhors a vacuum that a galaxy of Traditional Rulers gathered in the office apartment of Owerrri zone Council of Traditional Rulers at the Council Headquarters of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Ezeimo Palace, Mbari, Owerrri penultimate Tuesday,March 11,2025 to witness the ritual of formal opening of office and official take off Ceremony of one of their colleagues,His Royal Majesty, Eze Engr. Fredrick Nwachukwu KSC, mnse, Ogboro 1 of Ngor Ancient Kingdom and Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA Council of Traditional Rulers as the Acting Chairman of Owerri zone Council of Traditional Rulers / Acting Deputy Chairman,Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers in charge of Owerri zone.The ceremony was deemed necessary and inevitable owing to the transition to eternal Glory of the immediate past occupant of the exalted office,Late Eze David Osuagwu,Eze Awaka,who had since been accorded a deserving Royal burial rites a couple of months ago.
Earlier in his remark to declare the Office officially opened, the Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chairman of South East Council of Traditional Rulers,His Royal Majesty, Eze (Dr) E.C Okeke CFR, Ezeimo, Ezeudo 11 of Amaifeke Ancient Kingdom requested for a minute silence to honour and pray for the repose of the soul of the departed immediate past occupant of the office, Eze David Osuagwu .He informed the Royal fathers that the ceremony was necessary considering the fact that nature abhors vacuum and the need for Owerri zone traditional rulers Office to be occupied to move them forward with their activities and programs.
According to him,Eze Engr Fredrick Nwachukwu was enthroned to act in that capacity as the Deputy Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers in charge of Owerri zone pending further ratifications by the Executive Governor of Imo State.He led the traditional rulers to pray for the new office and for his good health, wisdom, peaceful and successful reign and urged him to remain committed to his duty and avoid anything that will run contrary to the high expectations of the Council and Imo State government.
Ezeimo reiterated that leadership is a divine call to duty which comes with God’s anointing and informed that Eze Nwachukwu did not impose himself but was chosen as it pleases God and urged the traditional rulers from Owerri zone and other members of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers to accord him the necessary support and cooperation he deserves in line with his new responsibility.He authorized the new Chairman of Owerri zone Council of Traditional Rulers,Eze Frederick Nwachukwu to activate his new office, with the ritual of Royal breaking of Kola in the name of Owerri zone, even in his presence as Ezeimo and Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers.
While commemorating his office as the new Deputy Chairman,Eze Engr Fredrick Nwachukwu thanked Ezeimo for his support and blessings and assured that he will seek God’s guidance and counsel in the discharge of his duties.He performed his first official duty in the Office with the ritual of Royal breaking of Kola nut in the name of Owerri zone in the presence of Ezeimo in his new Office, and pledged to galvanize the traditional rulers in Owerrri zone to support the Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers and Imo State Governor for the betterment of Imo State.
The highpoint of the event was the dedication of the new Office to God Almighty by The Anglican Priest of Egbu Diocese who officiates as the Chaplain of Royal Fathers within the jurisdiction of Egbu Anglican Diocese.
The event was spiced up with fervent prayers and followed by refreshments/entertainment.
