“Thanks to Orlu Zone Presidents General for reaffirming Owerri Zone for Governorship in 2027”
The attention of the President of Presidents General (POP) of the 12 Local Government Areas of Orlu Zone have been drawn to a false publication in the Nigeria Newspoint newspaper. of 24th February, 2025 captioned, Thanks to Orlu zone Presidents General for reaffirming Owerri zone for 2027. Imo Governorship position and we want to categorically state as follows:
1)The Presidents General in Orlu Zone did not at any time reaffirm Owerri Zone for 2027 Governorship position.
2)The Presidents General of Orlu Zone are not aware of any meeting purported to have held at Ihioma Civic centre on 15th February,2025 and as such did not issue any Communique.
3)The mischievous publication is entirely the handiwork of fraudsters as none of the signatories to the communique is a known Presidents General of any autonomous Community in Orlu Zone.This explains why they did not indicate their Local Government Areas orCommunities.
4)We do not know what these mischief makers intend to achieve by falsely using Orlu Zone Presidents General to hit up the polity prematurely.
5)The Presidents General of Orlu Zone therefore appeal to overzealous politicians to allow the Governor,Dist.Senator Hope Uzodimma to concentrate on the good work he is doing instead of. hitting up the polity to distract him.
6)The body of Presidents General in Orlu Zone, as grassroots mobilisers,will make a statement and take a position at the appropriate time after due consultations,regarding 2027 Governorship position.
7)The general public should disregard the purported Communique and reaffirmation of Owerri Zone for 2027 Governorshipposition.
8)Hon Amby Uneze,KSJI whose opinion and analysis on the same publication was based on the fake Communique,should also take note that his opinion and analysis so published was based on falsehood and should be retracted.
