The remains of Late Madam Mmerebumma Victoria Ibekwe was laid to rest on the 19th day of February, 2025 her husband;s
family compound in Umuikereukwu, Umunwafor Okworji, Awo-Omamma Imo Sate, Nigeria. She was aged 102 years.
In a funeral oration read by her son- Emeka Gerald Ibekwe (Ononenyi) he traced the early life of their late mother which he said started with humble beginnings which blossomed into a testimony of hard-working and patience as she was born and married into a family and matrimonial home of honest and sincerity.
Gerald Ibekwe (his son) described Nneoma Victoria’s adventurous as she travelled to various parts of world, majorly Sierra Leone and Cameroon in West African Regions in search of greener pastures.
According to the oration, late Nneoma maintained stronger zeal for better life which enabled her to join her uncle in a journey to Cameroon where she acquired wealth of experience in perseverance.
She later got married to their late Mr. Michael Chukwuhorom Ibekwe whose home was blessed with nine children.
The son further explained that their mother throughout her life existence was a pillar of courage to all and sundry as a
community leader, and she is being missed by all including the Catholic Church.
