Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Samdaddy) has flagged off free JAMB/ WAEC registration in Ikeduru LGA,Imo state .
It is said to be part of his efforts to reduce burdens confronting parents, and pledged to offer scholarship to all successful candidates who would score higher grades.
The event which held on Wednesday, February 19,was organized by Amaimo Progressive Forum, witnessed the presence of Traditional Rulers, President Generals, Political leaders across party lines, School Principals and Proprietors of Private schools across Ikeduru LGA.
In his opening remark, Chairman of the committee set up to coordinate the exercise, Sir Ugochukwu Asiegbu congratulated the successful beneficiaries whose names scaled through after careful screening, charging them to study well to be able to make it in the forthcoming JAMB and WAEC examinations..
According to him, the performances of the beneficiaries in the JAMB and WAEC examinations would guarantee them for University scholarship.
Commending the National Secretary of PDP for his philanthropy and love for his people, Sir Asiegbu described Senator Anyanwu’s decision to oversea the growth of the beneficiaries in the pursuit of their education as the best empowerment that is sustainable.
Addressing Ikeduru people, HRH Eze P. N Njoku URI,. emphasized the need for the students to engage in extra moral classes to enhance their capacity prior to the examination proper. The erudite first class Monarch further stressed that social media has done more harm than good to the youths and charged the beneficiaries to Jettison social media extravaganza for now and see this move as a life changing opportunity that would relaunch them to fame.
He also urged them to embrace academic excellence by constantly reading their books for the betterment of their future, family and the community at large.
Eze Njoku further poured encomiums on Senator Anyanwu, and described him as a born Philanthropist, a son of the soil and man that do not forget his people.
Reminding the people what Senator Anyanwu has done for Ikeduru behind the scenes and encouraged him to do more, even as he also appealed to other leaders to emulate him.
Presenting the scholarship forms to the students, Senator Anyanwu who was represented by Prince Marshall Okafor-Anyanwu thanked the Chairman and members of the committee for a job well-done, and charged beneficiaries to read extensively to be able to succeed.
He Promised to do more if beneficiaries of the free JAMB and WAEC exercises could dominate the 2025 JAMB high scores across the state.
Senator Anyanwu further added extra students to the existing number for the free education, pledging that more people wiould benefit in the next badge.
The event which was fully attended by Royal fathers in Ikeduru, among them were; HRH Eze P
N NJOKU ,URI II, HRH Eze Victor Achonye , HRH Eze Godwin Ezirim , HRH Eze Francis Anugwu , HRH Eze Anika of Atta , HRH Eze Ifeanyichukwu Egeolu , HRH Eze John Onuekwusi , HRH Eze Festus Osuji , HRH Eze H.A.W Esirim , HRH Eze Collins Ofor and HRH Eze Levi Ezeala.
Others include, over 15 President Generals of Town Unions across Ikeduru LGA, reputable leaders from different political affiliations, former government appointees and well-wishers.
The members of the Education committee are, Asiegbu Ugochukwu-Chairman, Dr James Akaraonye (Secretary),
Chief Edward Emeka, Chief William Amaku, Hon. Chika Agbugba, Hon. Dickson Udochukwu, and Chief Uba Madu, amongst others.
