Onyeikegbulem Ganners  IBC Golden Voice Award

A retired renowned staff of Imo Broadcasting Corporation, IBC, Owerri Amb Onyebuchi Onyeikegbulem ( aka O.O) says the IBC for the first time ever has decided to recognize the voices that blazed the trail while others followed.

Amb Onyeikegbulem stated this in an interview with newsmen shortly

being conferred with IBC Golden Voice Award last Thursday at the corporation along Akanchawa Road, New Owerri.

The former broadcaster who was conferred with the award in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the media sector on the occasion expressed delight that eleven years after his retirement, he was included in the list of awardees, and lauded the massive turn out of dignitaries and people from all walks of life to grace the occasion.

He identified the award as uplifting, reassuring and showing that at long last, one’s modest efforts are recognized, pointing out that the awards would motivate younger ones to understand that some time, they will be rewarded.

Amb Onyeikegbulem maintained that many of the retired staff of the corporation are not yet tired and can still do their programmes even better, if they are  hired by the corporation on part time arrangement.

He emphasized that IBC can maintain its status as the clearest voice East of the Niger, tapping from the resources of the active retirees.
