Imo State House of Assembly,IMHA has lifted the suspension placed on its four members following the adoption of the report presented before it by House Committee on Ethics and Privileges, headed by the majority leader of the House, Hon.Kanayo Onyemaechi.
Presenting the report on behalf of other committee members, the Majority Leader who also represents Owerri West constituency, told the house that in pursuant of their findings, that the four suspended Lawmakers have shown remorse for their actions and promised to be of good conduct ,if they are recalled.
The four suspended members: Dominic Ezerioha (Oru West, Samuel Otuibe,( Ahiazu Mbaise), Henry Agbasonu( Ezinihitte Mbaise) and Samuel Ogbunikpa,( Okigwe) were suspended on July, 2, 2024 following what the House leadership considered an act of unparliamentary conduct.
The House, while considering the report, adopted it as a working document as it resolved to recall the suspended Lawmakers with all their entitlement intact.
Commenting on the development, the Deputy Minority leader of the House, Hon.Clinton Amadi, commended the leadership of the House for seeing reasons to lift the suspension.
He said that nobody is perfect , hence the need to forgive one another and prayed that such development will not repeat in the state Assembly..
