…Calls On Tinubu To Take Legal Action.
It has become an annual allbeit illegal and urgly incident for the Igbo people resident in Lagos to undergo this kind of unwanted act of demolition of their properties by the western part of the Nigeria.
It is obvious that Igbo people are not the only tribe in Lagos, the Igbo will be the only people suffering every year in the hands of Lagosians by way of frequent demolition of Igbo property.
The All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Imo State, totally condemns the attack on the Igbo and the demolition of their property in Lagos.
The party is at the moment, urging and pleading with the President, His Excellency, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, to take proper legal steps and approach to tackle and settle this frequent but unacceptable behaviors of Lagosians towards Umuigbo.
His Excellency, president Ahmed Bola Tinubu is aware that things are difficult in the country presently. By destroying somebody’s source of income at this time, you know what it means Mr president Sir. For equity, justice, fairness and wellbeing of the people,
please Sir, come to the aid of Igbo people whose properties have been destroyed and buildings demolished. This is unfair treatment of Igbo people in their own country.
Honestly, we are not the ones that made ourselves Ndigbo. it has been our Chi (God) who has taken it upon himself to bless Igbo people, and we are hardworking and smart set of people. Igbo people do not discriminate, and does not intimidate other tribes, no matter what.
Yes, it is true that the major reason Igbo people keep having their businesses in the West, is as a result of the unavailability of seaports and many other critical infrastructure in the Southeast. And for this reason, the Igbo continuously stay or live in the western and northern part of the nation, and impacting development there, because the government remains seemingly reluctant to site seaports and other important things in the Southeastern part of the country. But, it is well. We believe it will change soonest no matter the cost.
We wish to encourage our Igbo people to reflect on our age-long belief ‘in ‘Aku ruo ulo.’ This is very important.
Let’s invest and develop the Southeast, by so- doing, the people who hate Umuigbo, will be looking and begging for Umuigbo.
APGA Imo State, wishes to use this medium to urge the Southeast governors, senators, members of House of Representatives and state houses of assembly to put hands on deck to fight insecurity in the zone as it is affecting everyone. It is also one of the major factors pushing Igbo businessmen and women to relocate to the West and other parts of the country to set up businesses.
God bless Igbo people, and our nation, Nigeria.
