Imo PMAN elect Koko nwa Jesus, Madu, as governor image maker

Frontline Imo based bongo music star and activist, Comrade Emmanuel Osuigwe popularly known as Koko nwa Jesus, has been elected as the governor of the

Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Imo State Chapter.

He was elected unopposed. The election which held in Owerri  was attended by representative of the PMAN national president, Pretty Okafor, delegates from the various local government branches across the state, former governors of the association,  branch chairmen, stakeholders and mayors of the zones.

Announcing the results, the chairman of the electoral committee, Mr Sabinus Okorie said the winner of the governorship election, Mr Koko nwa Jesus had successfully passed through a rigorous screening exercise and having scored thirty votes without void was duely elected as the 7th democratically elected governor of PMAN, Imo chapter. Other officers elected to work with the governor for the interest of Imo musicians include: the deputy governor, Comrade Favor ikechukwu Ononiwu from Oru East LGA, the public relations officer and image maker, Hon Sir Austin Madu, the treasurer Mr Boniface Dubai, the provost, Comrade Frank Loziano and the welfare officer, Madam Chinyere from Ikeduru LGA, popularly known in PMAN circle as Mama PMAN.

Speaking after the election, the assistant national secretary, Lady Golda Njiribeako, thanked Imo musicians and leaders for coming en masse to vote candidates of their choice inspite of initial distractions by those  he described as disgruntled elements in the opposition camp. She expressed Joy that the Imo State chapter election which was rescheduled, was held at last, adding that a vibrant PMAN governor and quality executives emerged.

The representative of the national president said she would ensure that Imo State chapter was well taken care of in terms of largesse from the headquarters.

Chief Chris Chikere Kpakarakpa commended the organizers of the election for a job well done. Governor Kpakarakpa expressed confidence in the newly elected Koko led-exco and prayed for their success. This is even as he told the new governor to be ready to make   sacrifices because according to him, ‘ PMAN is all about time and sacrifices in order to succeed.

Dr Emma Maduike, Onwa, Comr Bismarck Ekeocha, chief Dansatch Emeka Opara leader of Oriental Brothers,  KC Voice a bongo artiste and Viscount, a member of the All Entertainers Association of Imo State, an association that is affiliated to PMAN, Imo State, spoke in the same direction.

In a brief acceptance speech, the newly elected governor of PMAN lmo State, His Excellency Comrade Emma Osuigwe, thanked his colleagues and the leaders for finding him worthy to serve them.  The one time deputy governor said it has always been his ambition to serve the PMAN as governor, promising to work with all his heart. He said with the support of his executives, the PMAN Imo State Chapter would have a new face. The PMAN governor promised to bring all stakeholders, elders and members together on a round table for the large Union to agree on the way forward. He also thanked the media and security agencies for honouring the invitation to observe the election and promised to always work with them.
