The Publicity Secretary of Imo State Chapter of the All Progressives Party, APC, Cajetan Duke, and a former Imo state House of Assembly lawmaker, Blyden Amajirionwu, who represented Ngor-Okpala State Constituency in the 9th House, have resigned their membership of the party along with their supporters to join a new political movement championed by Dr.Chima Amadi.
They made their resignation public while addressing their supporters and members of the new political movement known as, ,The Mazi Organization, TMO, in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Friday.
Duke, said that their resignation was formed by careful thoughts to join and align with the new political movement championed by Amadi, to build new political environment that will usher in new chapter for economic growth and prosperity of the state and to also enhance peace, security and development.
“It is with exceptional humility and profound sense of responsibility that I wish to inform this distinguished audience and general public of my decision to resign as the State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Imo State, effective today, Friday, February 14, 2025.
“This decision was not taken lightly, but after careful consideration, I have decided to move on to a new challenge that aligns with my values and goals.” Duke stated.
He said that he remained grateful for the opportunity given to him to serve the APC Imo State in that capacity and appreciated the support and trust that the party leadership and members had given
him during the period.
He maintained that he was proud of the accomplishments recorded under his office as the publicity secretary of the party.
“As I move on to this new chapter, I am excited to announce that I have accepted the offer to become the official spokesperson of TMO for better Imo State
“This new role aligns with my passion for building an environment conducive for real economic growth and prosperity and I am eager to contribute my skills and experience to help advance the organization’s mission and goals,” he said.
Duke, promised that he will give his best to lift the new movement to greater heights; to attain its political goals without undermining efforts already put in place by the members of the movement.
He further said that there was no regret leaving APC, pointing out that he believes in the new movement which he said, was not only marketable but consistent with the yearnings and aspirations of the greater percentage of Imo people.
“I will continue to work tirelessly to promote this interest that has resonated with our great state and its people.
“I thank everyone for their understanding and support during this transition. I am excited about this new chapter and look forward to working with The Mazi Organization to make a positive impact
in our communities,” he noted.
In his speech, the Director General of TMO, Chukwu Onwukwe, while welcoming two of them, said that their decision to join the movement showed their unwavering commitment to join the trail to redeem the state.
“Your sacrifices for resigning from partisan politics and joining the TMO demonstrate your commitment to ensuring that,Dr. Chima Amadi becomes Governor of the state and making things work for the good of the people who deserve better living.”
Onwukwe, added that the presence of the movement is felt in all parts of the state.
