Political Tension In Ihitte-Uboma:Stakeholders Issue 48 Hrs Ultimatum to Imo  Speaker- Olemgbe To Release  Security vehicle For Council Area Or Face Sanctions.

Stakeholders of Ihitte/Uboma LGA, Sunday gave the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chike Olemgbe 48 hours ultimatum to handover to the Executive Chairman of the LGA, Prince Obioha Ndukwe, a Siena car donated by Ihitte/Uboma indigenes in the Diaspora for the security of the citizens  and property of people of the Council area.

The ultimatum was given after the Executive Chairman of the LGA, Prince  Ndukwe lamented that he had made several efforts to get the vehicle from Speaker Olemgbe with a view to handing it over to the security agencies deployed in the Local Government but to no avail.

In his reaction, former Secretary to the State Government and a stakeholder in Ihitte/Uboma, Engr Mark Uchendu who regretted that the issue of the Siena had become embarrassing, reasoned that the Speaker is expected to contribute in the efforts being made by the stakeholders to boost security in the area  rather than  frustrate same.

Angered by the situation, the stakeholders therefore echoed that Speaker Olemgbe be given 48 hours after the passage of the resolution to release the vehicle to the chairman, or they take  further stringent actions.

Addressing the stakeholders, the Executive Chairman of Ihitte/Uboma LGA, Prince Ndukwe appealed to sons and daughters of the LGA to freely donate for   the security of the LGA. assuring that the committee saddled with the responsibility will  effectively utilize the funds donated.

He averred  that  the local government authority  will ensure transparency in its dealings.

Ndukwe, expressed gratitude to Governor Hope Uzodinma for his efforts in ensuring adequate security in the State, even as he expressed joy that the people enjoyed peaceful yuletide period in the Council.

Other leaders at the meeting include; Ex- Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Comrade Simon Ebegbulem, Chief C C Anyanwu, Ex-Chairmen of the LGA, Born Okafor and Barr Uche Okonkwo.

Others included; Councillors, President-Generals, prominent sons and daughters of Ihitte/ Uboma in the diaspora, among others.
