Peoples Democratic Party youth leaders in the Southeast geo-political zone have condemned the level of political desperation exhibited by Hon Ude Okoye to foist himself as National Secretary of PDP, adding that in demonstration of his amateur behavior, he annoyingly “resumed” office under a mango tree.
The youth further warned Okoye to stop embarrassing the people of the Southeast by flagrantly displaying character depicting of a people that are not united, but desperately in search of political power.
Speaking on behalf of the youth in Enugu on Thursday, Barr Kingsley Onah, an indigene of Enugu State wondered what Okoye is looking for at the office of the National Secretary, regretting that he woefully failed and abysmally disgraced himself from office as National youth leader of the party.
According to him, the Southeast presented only one National Secretary of PDP, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu in 2022 after stakeholders made up of Governors, Senators, former Governors, House of Representatives members among others of PDP critical leaders in the zone unanimously nominated and endorsed Senator Anyanwu for the plum job.
Barr Onah further advised Okoye to resist attempt by anyone to use him to divide the party, adding that since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Security agencies and stakeholders across the three geo-political zones in the country recognized and are working in harmony with Senator Anyanwu, the Southeast PDP would continue to support him.
The youth further resolved that since the claimed December 20, 2024 Appeal Court judgement had been appealed against at the Supreme Court, Senator Anyanwu remains the authentic National Secretary of the party until proven otherwise, advising Okoye to abide by the party’s constitutional provisions to avoid committing contempt.
