A prominent Imolite and executive director, Center for Transparency Advocacy, CTA, Dr Chima Amadi has said that ending bad governance lies in hands of the citizens particularly the youths, by choosing the right persons to lead.

while addressing a huge crowd at an event to officially inaugurate coordinators of The Mazi Organisation, TMO, held at Government Technical College Owerri, last Tuesday, highlighted the imperative to promote good governance in order to achieve meaningful socio-economic development of the state.
Amadi opined that seeming lack of concern on the part of the citizens remains a factor that prompts poor governance.
He iterated that citizens.becoming proactive in the quest to end poor governance and entrench good governance, would help reverse the current trend.
He added that the state is blessed with abundant human and material resources.
Dr Amadi hinted that he symbolises “a new way of doing things.”
According to him, “We need to restore sanity in Imo State. Our people must rise and reclaim the state…”
Speaking further, Dr Amadi popularly called Mazi Gburugburu, lamented what he described as the growing poverty and hardship in the state, as well as the state of affairs in critical infrastructure in the areas of healthcare, power, education, among others.
He enjoined the coordinators of TMO to sensitise the communities in the state on the need to be proactive on the germane issue of ensuring good governance in order to achieve the objectives of the organisation.
He noted that citizens reserve the right to hold leaders accountable for their actions.
Amadi however, added that he was yet to step into politics.
The Coordinator of TMO, Obioma Onwuegbucha, in his remarks, hinted that the organisation remains a movement committed to the empowernent of the communities so as to achieve development. He described Dr. Amadi as leader with uncommon commitment towards improving the lots of the people and “a blessing to society.”
iAmong dignitariies present were Okenze Obinna, immediate past members for Ikeduru, Ngor Okpala, and Ihitte Uboma state constituencies, Hon Uche Ogbuagu, Hon Blyden Amajuruonwu and Hon Michael Crown Njoku, among others.
