Obinna Obi-Njoku Foundation Empowers 15 Ikeduru Youths With N.5m Each

In continuation of his empowerment drive across all the communities in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, the founder of Obinna Obi-Njoku Foundation, Dr Obinna Obi-Njoku Jnr., has doled out N500,000 each to 15 youths from the various communities of the LGA.

Dr Obi-Njoku jnr urged the beneficiaries of the empowerment scheme to avail themselves of the opportunity given to them to become productive, adding that there is a need to reduce crime among youths by empowering them.

He also assured that his Foundation would sustain the tempo by ensuring that other  youths in the area were empowered subsequently.

Speaking at the event which attracted dignitaries and youths across Uzoagba and Ikeduru LGA, the executive chairman Ikeduru LGA,  Hon Justice Nze described the empowernent scheme sponsored by Dr Obi-Njoku jnr as not only timely, but also wonderful.

The Ikeduru LGA boss announced his preparedness to partner  the Foundation to make the scheme more expansive in the coming year.

The chairman of the occasion, Hon. Tony Osuji doffed his cap for Dr. Obinna Obi-Njoku jnr over what he described as  the great work the youthful medical doctor has been doing in the area of youth empowerment.

Hon. Osuji  equally saluted the humility, kindness, focus, and consistency of the donor, noting that the young medical expert has been exemplary .

He expressed delight in the move by Ikeduru council chairman, Hon Nze, to partner with Obi-Njoku Jnr in order to expand the programme subsequently.

In his speech, the Ikeduru LGA party chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Remigus Onyewuchi advised the beneficiaries of the youth empowerment single-handedly sponsored by

Dr Obi-Njoku Jnr., to make judicious use of the money given to them, as it was rare for one man to embark on such a gesture at a time when the economy was passing through tough times.

The Ikeduru APC LGA party chairman described Dr Obi-Njoku Jnr as a young man filled with the milk of human kindness.

A former chairman of Ikeduru LGA, Chief Vitalis Ogueri, popularly known as Vitaco,  expressed joy at the efforts of the sponsor, describing the empowerment as special.

Appreciating the gesture, one of the beneficiaries and  chairman of Ikeduru Youth Alliance, IYA, Mr Nelson Ekechi, said Dr Obi-Njoku Jnr remained a leader with an uncommon passion for youth development.

He also said Dr. Obi-Njoku Jnr has proved to be a consistent and dependable personality whose  word is his bond.

Some of the beneciaries of the empowernent scheme who were each  presented with cheques of N500,000 each, include  Chidera Nwiwu, Nelson Ekechi, Diala Chinedu, Anosike Akubueze, Tochi Chukwu, Ibe Augustine, Njoku Sixtus Uzoma, Chukwunyere Chijioke Goodnews, Chibuzor Mbata,  among others.

Recall that Dr Obinna Obi-Njoku Jnr had in the past empowered women and youths in lkeduru via various programmes and  schemes initiated by his Obinna Obi-Njoku Foundation, a non-governmental organisation.

 

The Foundation had also carried out developmental projects including road maintenance, free medical treatment, skill acquisition, sponsorship of yearly football and sports talent hunt, COVID-19 intervention across Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, among many others.
