…As Ikenga Ugochinyere splashes cash gift to constituents .
Out spoken and courageous spokesman of the Coalition of the United Political Parties,CUPP- Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu has warned that only a consistent, courageous and vibrant opposition such as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP would rescue the nation from the crushing and suffocating claws of the alleged visionless, planless and clueless APC led-administration in Nigeria.
“The nation is currently breeding, wallowing in unprecedented inflation, poverty, hunger, squalor, illiteracy, insecurity, unemployment, starvation, among other debilitating factors yet some political charlatans who are supposed to call the APC to order are keeping quiet, dining and hob-nobbing with them for their selfish ends”.
Ikenga Imo who raised the lamentation while addressing a mammoth crowd of party supporters, political disciples, stalwarts including market women, traders, artisans, Okada riders and sundry critical stakeholders of the Ideato North/South of his Federal constituency at his country home ,Umukaegwu Akokwa Ideato North LGA of Imo state regretted that the visions and missions of the founding fathers of the PDP which inter-alia included Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Dr. Solomon Lar, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and which progressively terminated military rule in the country in 1999 had now been rubbished and stultified by false prophets in sheep’s clothing , who do not mean well for the masses and democracy.
“A good number of them have shamelessly taken the in glorious path to mess the PDP up and are brazenly trying to stop the North Central from producing the next National Chairman of our great party and to truncate our effort to produce a formidable presidential candidate in 2027 but they will fail.
We have traitors among us who are without shame and honour and who have thrown caution to the wind and are hell bent to truncate the PDP NEC meeting through senseless and untenable endless shifts”.
Quoting relevant sections of the PDP constitution to back his comments, Ikenga Imo who represents Ideato North/South Federal Constituency advised some PDP governors who he said are clandestinely romancing with the Federal government especially the FCT minister,Nyesom Wike to watch their steps.
He also stressed that their actions are completely at variance with those of the great Zik of Africa,Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe , Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sardauna of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello, Dr. Michael Iheonukara Okpara who all taught the nation what partisan politics is all about.
“Because I have refused to be intimidated and coerced, they are doing the best they can to frame me up with one frivolous allegation or the other, but l am not bothered and if they do not turn over to a new leaf, we will go back to the trenches and continue to fight for the soul of PDP so as to save this nation from further degeneration”.
Ugochinyere who enumerated a number of projects he had so far completed in his constituency, on-going ones and those he intends to initiate for the people also advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to beware of some of his aides who he said are hypocrites, sycophants and spongers, who will abandon him in 2027 to pursue their presidential ambitions.
He finally doled out several empowerment packages including money to women, men, youths, children, Okada riders, the needy, the physically challenged and other handicapped members of the society who all stormed his country home .
