Detective School Debuts in Owerri As Imo CP Tasks Security Operatives, others On Effective Policing

In order to support security operatives and private individuals  against activities of criminals in Imo state, an international Non Governmental Organisation, NGO- Human Rights Network Initiative in partnership with African Detective Association, USA has launched a  Detective School in Owerri.

The Detective School which will be running a three month certificated programme in general investigation and report writing was launched at Imo State Police Command Headquarters

Declaring the event open,the  Imo State Police Commissioner, Aboki Danjuma approved of the training even as he commended the organisers.

While disclosing that general investigation and report writing are major ingredients that constitute effective policing the CP enjoined all serving police officers to enrol for the programme.

In his words,’ I am delighted to declare this event open. I approve of the training. It will be self sponsored. But I beg the organisers to subsidize the cost of the training for policemen.

Earlier in his speech, Chairman Board, Human Rights Network Initiative, rtd CSP Okechukwu Olegeme   said the training was to assist security personnel and private person’s to detect and beat crimes in the state.

According to him after the three months training those eager to further would be helped to go to Mexico or USA for the further training.

In his remarks,  Sam Nwanti an FBI trained detective said the training was approved by the past administration of President Buhari through the act of National Assembly adding that he decided to establish it first in imo as his home state and efforts were on top gears to equally establish the training across other states.

Detective Nwanti noted that aside being equipped with the general investigation and report writing techniques, the three months certificated program would get one engaged and even simplify an overseas job searching.

The Founder of Human Rights Network Initiative maintained that the program was first of it’s kind in the country urging all and sundry to make use of the opportunity to be career detectives.

Among other dignitaries that graced the occasion the representative of Secretary of Imo State Government, Barr. Mrs Chika Onuoha wished the organisers a success assuring that the state government was behind the program

According to information registration for the training is ongoing at Government College Owerri from Monday to Saturday while the training will commence in January 2025.
