Tinubu Appointed Wike To Capture Rivers And Bianca Ojukwu To Win The South East- Kenneth

Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent figure in the Labour Party, has voiced his dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu’s recent ministerial appointments, arguing that they are motivated more by political maneuvering than by a genuine concern for the country’s welfare.

During an interview on Channels TV, Okonkwo highlighted that the appointment of Nyesom Wike as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was intended to secure Rivers State politically. He also suggested that the appointment of Bianca Ojukwu, widow of Biafran leader Odumegwu Ojukwu, as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs was a strategy to gain influence in the Southeast, where Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has substantial support.

Okonkwo expressed his concerns, stating, “The reasons for the appointments are not for the welfare of the people. The reason first and foremost is political self-aggrandisement.”

He elaborated on the strategic intentions behind the appointments: “The appointment of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to capture Rivers State. Bianca Ojukwu from APGA to see whether he can make an inroad to South East.”

Clarifying Bianca Ojukwu’s position, he added, “Bianca Ojukwu is assistant to a minister, not a minister. She’s a minister of state for foreign affairs; we have a minister of foreign affairs.”
