Activist-NJoku Urges Imo Govt To Release Nonsonkwa, Drop Charges Against Him.

The continued detention of a Radio Presenter/Activist, Chinonso Uba popularly known as Nonsonkwa is still generating reactions from members of the public ,demanding the unconditional release of the On Air Personality,OAP.

The Convener of a Human rights association under the aegis of Activists For Cognitive Justice And Acountability ,ACJA’, Comrade Paul Ikechukwu Njoku, has added his voice in urging the Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma to release the presenter and  drop all the charges which he described as obnoxious and ambiguous  that were levelled against him.

Njoku made the call while speaking with some Journalists in Owerri the Imo State capital where he alleged that the arrest of Nonsonkwa is not unconnected with his critical view concerning the outcome of the just concluded Local Government councils elections which he said falls short of the expectations of the electorate in the state.

He said that  Uzodinma  must avoid actions that are capable of portraying  his administration  as an empire ,brutish,  ruthless and  dictatorial , where according to him freedom of speech can no longer be tolerated.

” His intolerance on criticism, opposition and dissenting voices is unacceptable. We therefore urge him to drop all the obnoxious and ambiguous charges against Nnonso Nkwa within 72hrs or prepare for a massive but peaceful protest from Imolites at the Government House” he further said.
