Uche Samankwe Foundation :  We’re Committed To Eradicate Poverty,Says Nnodim.

Last weekend, the Uche Samankwe Foundation, USF officially made its entry into the world of Non-Governmental Organization, NGOs and declared its commitment to transform lives during its launch.

The event which took place in  a popular hotel at the  New Owerri area of Imo state was graced by other sister NGOs, community leaders, Media men, friends and well wishers.

In the key note address delivered by Barr. Rowland Uwakwe,he commended the Chief Executive Officer/Founder, Prince Uche Samankwe Nnodim  for choosing a life of impact instead of primitive accumulation of wealth.

He noted that while maladministration has made Nigeria the poverty capital of the world ,the Foundation was established to eradicate poverty through sharing of her resources.

Speaking through the program manager, Mr, Chijioke Umunnakwe, the promoter of USF, Prince Uche Nnodim expressed his commitment towards eradicating poverty. This he said will be achieved by providing the tools and support necessary for sustainable development, empowering individuals to achieve their fullest potentials.

Earlier, in a welcome address presented by a Rights Activist and social justice crusader, Dr. Afam Echi, the Foundation was applauded for helping to bridge the poverty gap created by the government through poor governance.

In his words, “we are grateful  with the Foundation for making themselves a willing tool in the hands of God ,standing in the gap to touch lives”. He encouraged all to emulate the Foundation by giving always because according to him no one is impoverished by giving.

The highlight of the occasion was the unveiling of the Uche Samankwe Foundation plaque containing the core objective of the organization and which was highlighted by Dr. Afam Echi. He alongside Barr. Uwakwe and other dignitaries joined hands to unveil the mandate.

It must be observed that the program which had as its theme: “Uplifting communities through charity, capacity building and education” was a dual event not only launching the organization but also used to celebrate the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty .

Solidarity and goodwill messages had come from sister NGO’s who shared their experiences and encouraged the USF. The Secretary, Coalition of NGO’s had expressed happiness that a new child was born and advised them not to be deterred by any challenges on their path

The chairperson of Diamond project while expressing happiness to partner with USF not only gave tips for managing a successful NGO, but advised the organization to focus on membership and learn to give training before giving help so as to determine the capacity of the users.

The country director of Solidarieta African Alliance for Development (SAFAD Alliance), Dr. Austin Njoku spoke about the exploits of her group and noted that information is key in the running of the Foundation.

The event was capped with entertainment and group photographs of participants. A drama group had also performed.
