Alleged Extortion: Imo Police Command Begins Orderly Room Trial Against 4 Officers

The Imo State Police Command has commenced an orderly room trial against four of its officers caught in a viral video maltreating and extorting money from people on the road.

The officers, who have been in detention for some days at the Command’s headquarters are,

Inspector Ibrahim Nainna, Inspector Unaka Maxvirgin, Inspector Miller Ibinitta and Sergeant Antony Alozie.

The arrest of the officers followed the allegation leveled against them by Young C Entertainment group a film production outfit who are in the State to carry out film shooting exercise.

In a video which was displayed by the victims revealed  how the police officers manhandled and forced the group to give out some dollars found in their bag which was part of the items for the shooting.

The explanations made by the victims trying to inform the officers that those dollars are not real failed on deaf ears as they forced them to go to their base.

A press statement from the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye informed that the results of the proceedings will be communicated in due course.

In another development, the Commissioner of police,CP Aboki Danjuma has embarked on inspection tour across various Police Divisions and Tactical Teams in the State.

ASP Okoye explained that the move aims at assessing the conditions of suspects in detention and to ensure no individual is detained beyond the legal limit
