Fubara  Swears In New Rivers LG Chairmen As APP WINS 22 Chairmanship Position

Governor Siminalayi Fubara is set to swear in the newly elected chairmen of Rivers State today, 6th October 2024, at the Executive Council Chambers of Government House, Port Harcourt. The ceremony is scheduled for 4 PM, with the chairmen and their guests expected to be seated by 3:30 PM.

This follows the declaration by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) on Saturday, 6th October, that the Action Peoples Party (APP) emerged victorious in all 23 local government areas of the state. The election results, reflecting the will of the people across the oil-rich state, ushered in a fresh set of local government leaders.

In a special announcement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo, it was confirmed that Governor Fubara will preside over the swearing-in ceremony. Each chairman is permitted to attend the event with one guest.

This marks a significant moment for local governance in Rivers State, as the newly elected officials assume their roles in managing the affairs of their respective local government areas, working towards the development and betterment of their communities under the leadership of Governor Fubara.

The event underscores the administration’s commitment to grassroots governance and ensuring that democratic processes at the local level reflect the aspirations of the electorate.
