Independence Day Anniversary: Ohanu Counsels Leaders On Good Governance, Godly Living

The founder, Favoured Assembly Church Obinze and  the  Imo State Overseer of Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria,CBCN, Bishop Chinedu Ohanu has called on the political leaders in Nigeria  to be transparent in governing the people by imbibing the fear of God in their respective public offices,even  as he maintained that It is only God that gives power.

Bishop Ohanu who is  also the state chapter Co ordinator ,Restore  College of Bishops, Archbishops and Apostolic network  made the call during a church service to mark this year’s independence day anniversary celebration.

He said that the current economic realities in the country is orchestrated by bad leadership as those who are occupying public positions do not have the interest of the citizens at heart.

The founder however said that the only solution to the lingering problem in the country is for the leaders and the led to seek the face of God maintaining that he is the only one that can remedy the situation.

” Both citizens and the political class have abandoned the way of God just the way the people of Israelites abandoned him amidst calamity which increased in bounds until they realized their mistakes and turned back to him.

” The same thing that   happened between the people of Israel and God is what is happening between Nigeria and God .We have abandoned him in many ways through our actions and inactions”

The CBCN State Overseer however noted that God’s love  abounds in the country, saying that it is the reason why Nigeria is in still in  existence.

He enjoined Nigerians to use the independence day anniversary to reflect on their past mistakes and amend their ways for the light of God to shine on the nation again.

The man of God encouraged the congregation to be steadfast and never lose focus in following God as he is the only way to man,s survival.

In a similar vein, the wife of the Bishop,Rev. Esther Ohanu used the celebration to charge mothers to live up to the responsibility of taking care of their homes while  making God their  chief host.

Rev. Ohanu further  opined  that the economic situation will never negatively affect those who acknowledged the presence of God in their daily lives.

She also advised the mothers to respect their husbands and love their children the way Jesus loves the church.
