PROWIF Demands  Investigation Of Murder Of Imo Youth

A young man identified simply  as Obinna, was said to have been allegedly gunned down on September 9, 2024, when some police officers on road block at Agbala along the Owerri-Aba Road, were said to have stopped him and his friend on their way to a building site said to be his friend’s.

The deceased was said to be accompanying his friend to see how work was progressing at the said building site somewhere at Agbala.

According to deceased’s friend, after a police officer stopped them, a little while another officer on duty waved at them to move, and immediately he drove off, they started shooting at them. In the process, a bullet hit his friend prompting the policemen to run away.

It was learnt that the youngman who was allegedly shot later gave up the ghost.

Following the said incident, Protect The Weak International Foundation, PROWIF, through a statement signed by its president, Comrade Chinonso UBA (Nonsonkwa)  demanded a comprehensive investigation and arrest of all police officers alleged to be at the said road block on that particular day, reiterating that thorough investigation should be conducted and the culprit fished out and prosecuted according to the law.

“We might be forced to take legal actions against the Nigeria Police if after seven days, the culprit is yet to be fished out.

“This is not manslaughter but murder. The Inspector General of Police and Imo State  Commissioner of Police, CP, must treat this with utmost seriousness it deserves,” PROWIF hinted.
