…Donates borehole to Journalists as Patron
Barr. Success Obioma Akagburuonye, on Wednesday, commissioned the borehole which he had sunk for a faction of lmo State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, at the Union’s second Secretariat, at New Owerri.
Akagburuonye was also conferred the Patron of the Union, following all he is said to have been doing for the Union.
Speaking at the event, Akagburuonye said, he had prayed to God to bless him so that he would be a blessing to others, pointing out that, he has continued to live upto that vow.
He commended the governor of lmo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma on his numerous achievements in the State, stressing that, he would continue to support the governor both in words and in actions in his efforts to give lmo result-oriented leadership.
He advised the Journalists in the State to unite and work as as body to enable them achieve much for themselves, adding that, division does not encourage progress.
He commended the Journalists in the State and the leadership of the Union for their doggedness, describing Journalists in the State as among the best in the Country.
On his appointment as the Patron of the Union, Akagburuonye said, he had become a journalist by association.
In his speech earlier, the factional Chairman of the State Chapter of NUJ, Comrade lfeanyi Nwanguma eulogized Akagburuonye, describing him a lover of journalists in the State and a dependable friend of the Media.
Nwanguma remarked that Journalists in the State would continue to partner with Barr Akagburuonye for progress, adding that, he has become a big asset to Journalists in lmo .
According to him, the “philanthropist, community development magnet and President of Hope Rising For Imolites, Barr. Chief Success Obioma Akagburuonye has eased up and addressed the issue of water supply in the NUJ Press Center”
Nwanguma pointed out that, “such gesture, made available by Akagburuonye, has brought
relief to the journalists. “And we are not taking such humanitarian support for granted as Akagburuonye has endeared himself to the Union by this unreserved show of love”.
