Favoured Assembly Church Celebrates Mothers’ Day  In Imo

It was a joyous gathering at Favoured Assembly Church Obinze, Owerri west LGA in Imo State as the church marked its annual Mothers’ Day anniversary with huge number of attendance that came to celebrate with them.

The event started with church service which prepared the mind of the congregation before the commencement of the main event.

Preaching a Sermon, a renowned man of God also Emperor of the Atlantic, Dr Solomon Winning told the congregation that the best way to live a worthy life is to be in Christ and that to be in Christ is to acquire power.

Winning said that he is the only person who doesn’t allow his kingly position to stop him from preaching the gospel rather,  he combines the two  to the glory of God ,saying that where the word of a king is, there is power.

He enjoined the congregation to have spirit of offering to God a sacrifice that will move him to bless them.

Speaking also, the Founder of   the church and  current Imo State Overseer of Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria,CBCN, Bishop Chinedu Ohanu said that this year’s Mothers’ day celebration is very significant in the history of the church following the number of people that graced the occasion

He informed that the event marked the 14th anniversary celebration, since the beginning of the church as it will mark its 14 years of existence by November this year.

” We are going to mark our 14 years anniversary by November and l really appreciate God for keeping the church up to this period.Iam also delighted by the number of people who came to  celebrate with us,it shows that our voices have been honoured.The event was unique, wonderful and we really thank God for the fine weather He used to visit us today”,he said.

Bishop Ohanu also used the celebration to advise Mothers to always be mindful of their actions and look on to God as their sole helper mostly in the present economic situation facing the country.

The wife of the Bishop,Mrs Esther Ohanu  and  the women Co-ordinator expressed gratitude to the women who turned out in their large numbers to participate in the celebration, saying that the successful outcome of the celebration is a sign of more glorious things that is going to happen in the church.

She also advised the mothers to be respectful  to their husbands and cultivate the habit of tolerance and make God their focal point as it is the only way to have a happy home.

In her speech, the acting women leader,Mrs Uchenna Uzorma said that the celebration was exceptional observing that the turnout was very encouraging unlike previous years.

She commended the mothers for the spirit of love and oneness which they exhibited throughout the preparation period.

She used the moment to advise mothers to respect their husbands and the church at large.

Mrs Uzorma also commended the Bishop for his contributions towards the successful outcome of the celebration.

She  prayed that God should continue to be his strength as he continues to preach and spread the gospel.

The highlight of the celebration,was a drama performed by the Mothers which exhibited  rewards for offering help to people in need as guests watched in admiration.

The event was witnessed by some Bishops, pastors, guests and members of the church.
