IGBO WOMEN MEET IN OWERRI,  INAUGURATE LOC FOR  PAN IGBO WOMEN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE, TO HOLD IN ENUGU STATE,   IN NOVEMBER, 2024, 

In a bid to achieve unity of purpose and security in Igbo land, Igbo Women operating  under the aegis of Pan Igbo Women International Conference,  in Collaboration with Akuruo  ulo Media,   have Inaugurated the Local Organizing Committee,  which  responsibility is to bring the entire Igbo Women together for the peace, progress and unity of the region and for the  November 2024, lnternational  Conference, slated for Enugu State.

Speaking at the event,   the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Summers Nwokie, (Ikuku Oma Mbaise) said that, the event marks significant milestone in the history of Igbo Women and a collective journey towards empowerment, equity and cultural renaissance.

“Today we are not just launching a committee, we are igniting a movement to celebrate, uplift and address the multifaceted challenges facing Igbo Women. The Pan Igbo Women International Conference is a testament to our unwavering commitment to ensuring that the voices, contributions and aspirations of Igbo Women are recognized, respected and amplified on both national and global stages to foster peace in the entire Igbo land”, she said.

Speaking further, Chief Summers Nwokie,  advised members of the Local Organizing Committee of the  Pan Igbo Women International Conference fixed for November, at Enugu State to remain good ambassadors of the Igbo Women and work together to achieve the purposes of bringing  them together for the People and help in addressing all the prevailing issues that seem to have  divided Igbo land, including insecurity.

In her acceptance speech, Chairman of the LOC of Pan Igbo Women International Conference Enugu, Barr Mrs. Ijeoma Igboanusi,  expressed joy for the success of the event and promised to carry out the assignment  with integrity and passion,   to drive home the desired interest and theme of the Pan Igbo Women International Conference on peace and unity for Igbo land and  to showcase the role of Igbo Women in Peace building Processes.

According to her, the conference is meant to bring all the, who is who in Igbo land together to forge ahead and will equally recognize those individuals who have done noble to the promotion of  Igbo Land, people through their respective endeavors both in political and none political sectors, Aviation, Industries, Trade and Investment, Academics, Culture,  Music and Entertainments and many others.

She explained that the members of the LOC  of the Pan Igbo Women International Conference in November at Enugu, were drawn from the whole Igbo Speaking States including Delta and Rivers States,  to carry everybody along with the purpose of helping to bring about unity, brotherly love and enthrone lasting peace in Igbo land.

She maintained that the Committee will work assiduously to ensure success of the conference shortly after the burial of  Chief  Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, National President of  Ohaneze Ndigbo, and afterwards,  they  will start immediately to mobilise for the international Conference  by visiting all the States in the South East  and preaching the gospel of the conference to the entire Igbo region.

 

The highlights of the event were the Official inauguration and decoration of the LOC members and the investiture of Grand Patron Awards to Eminent Igbo Citizens including, Chief  Emeka Diwe,   President General of Associations of Igbo President Generals, Prince Lasbery Okaforanyanwu, Former Commissioner For Transport,  Imo State and others.

In a vote of thanks, a member of the newly Inaugurated LOC, Barr. Vivian Otti, former NAWOJ Imo State Chairman,  thanked the members of the Pan Igbo Women International Conference LOC,  For the success of the event as well as the members of the public,  including the Chairman Chief Summers Nwokie Ikuku Oma Mbaise, Chief Mrs Theresa Anunuba,  Former APC Imo State Woman Leader, Chief Chuks Ibegbu,  CEO Akuru Ulo media, a major partner in the conference and their able Secretary, Prof. Mrs. Adaobi Ugbomeh for their pragmatism.
