The Department of Psychology of Kingsley Mbadiwe University, Ideato, has successfully concluded a seminar on Psychotherapy and Psychology.
The seminar which was recently organised for final year students was titled “Practicum in Psychotherapy.”
The event aimed to equip students with practical skills to face challenges in the labour market.
In his welcome address, a lecturer in the department, Chukwuemeka Amadi, who organized the seminar, commended the Head of Department, Dr. Chukwuemeka Aletta, for his efforts in elevating the department, emphasising the university’s commitment to raising top-notch graduates who would be globally acclaimed.
He explained that the seminar aimed to prepare final-year students with hands-on practical mechanisms to effectively carry out their responsibilities as Psychology graduates, especially in addressing societal problems.
In his keynote address, the Head of Department, Dr Aletta thanked Amadi for the innovation and appreciated the vice chancellor for setting high standards and guaranteeing excellence in the university. He also commended lecturers for their efforts and encouraged students to prepare themselves for the task ahead.
A lecturer from the Department of English and Literary Studies, Dr. Ferdinand Mba, lauded the students for their excellent performance, commending the lecturers for their dedication.
Meanwhile a final-year student and President of the Psychology Students Association, Miss Onumonu Esther,
appreciated the Head of Department and lecturers for their dedication, promising that they will live up to expectations as future psychologists from Kingsley Mbadiwe University which is one of the best universities in the country.
The seminar featured outstanding presentations by final-year students, questions, answers, and contributions.
