Former governor of Imo state, Chief Achike Udenwa, yesterday mourned the death of the President General of the Ohaneze Ndigbo and foremost philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
A statement by his Media Adviser, Emeka Omeihe said the former governor received the news with deep sadness. Udenwa extolled Iwuanyanwu’s sterling qualities describing him as a man with a large heart.
“Many served under his tutelage in politics and business, he was a pillar of support to many governments both at the state and federal levels”. Udenwa described Iwuanyanwu as a great supporter and champion of the Igbo cause and nationalist who left indelible footprints in the sands of history.
He expressed sadness that death came calling at a time his services are most needed not only by Ndigbo but the country. Udenwa condoled with the Iwuanyanwu family and Ohaneze Ndigbo on the sad loss. He prayed the almighty God to grant them the fortitude to bear the sad loss and the soul eternal rest in His bosom.
