Iwuanyanwu said he, Nnamdi Kanu wept before he told IPOB leader  to take heart –Ejiofor

Nnaemeka Ejiofor, a senior lawyer in Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team, has spoken about the contributions Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, made in Igbo land before his demise.

In a recent report by The Sun, Ejiofor said Chief Iwuanyanwu was actively involved in efforts to secure Nnamdi Kanu’s release and to address the security issues in the southeastern part of Nigeria. He recalled a recent meeting between Chief Iwuanyanwu and Nnamdi Kanu at the Department of State Services (DSS) detention facility in Abuja. He said during this meeting, both Iwuanyanwu and Kanu were deeply emotional and cried together over Kanu’s condition. Iwuanyanwu expressed his sorrow and assured Kanu that efforts were being made to secure his release

In Ejiofor’s words: “After the meeting which involved only the Ohanaeze leader and Nnamdi Kanu, Chief Iwuanyanwu during a press briefing later in the evening of that day, said he wept when he saw the condition Kanu was in.

“He said both Nnamdi and himself wept for a while before he told Nnamdi to take heart as efforts were being made to secure his release,”
