Civil Society Coalition backs Women Affairs Minister, alleges plot to pull her down

Coalition of Civil Society Organizations has thrown their weight behind he Minister of Women Affairs Minister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye alleging plots to pull her down.

Addressing the press in Enugu Convener of the Coalition Comrade Igboke Onyebuchi Martin wanted the faceless individuals harassing the Minister to allow her perform her duties.

Hear him; “Remember Anambra women ranging from Prof Dora Akunyeli down to Oby Ezekwesili made remarkable impacts in the same ministerial positions.

“Remember they faced similar challenges but that set them apart.

“We the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations with sole intents of entrenching accountability and improved service delivery from public office holders and institutions want to send a stern warning against distracting the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy -Ohanenye.

“We watching closely,we will soon make it public those trying to witch hunt her for standing upright, the House of Reps members trying to probe her should equally be monitored. Mind you that women are encouraged globally to participate actively in Leadership and governance, therefore the need to provide them with the needed support rather than harassing them as it is becoming a recurring trend.

“Who is really behind all this non existing issues and what do the person stand to benefit?

“We are calling on well meaning Nigerians to stand firm and ensure that few personal interest will not override public good.”
