…Accuses him of clannishness
..Says: Position is open
…Urge Uzodinma to remove him as LG Apex leader
The Mbaitoli South Political Bloc has called on Governor Hope Uzodinma to immediately remove Chief Marconi Nlemigbo as the Apex Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.
The bloc comprising four wards, namely: Ifakala, Ogbaku, Ubommiri, and Umunoha Azara, made the call in a Communique dated July 4, 2024, signed by Barr Chris Nwabia, Engr. Iyke Nnadi, Dr Ewurum Evans, and 11 other leaders from the bloc, a copy of which was made available to Nigeria Newspoint.
They hinged the call on what they stated as alleged clannish actions of Chief Nlemigbo including his recent zoning of the chairmanship position of Mbaitoli LGA to his own bloc of Mbaitoli East of
Mbieri area.
The bloc alleged that on ” 15/7/24, Chief Barr M.O Nlemigbo summoned a make believe meeting of leaders of his choice in All Progressives Congress, APC, Mbaitoli LGA with dominance of Mbieri extraction, under the pretence of chatting a consensus on where the Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA would come from.”
They also accused Nlemigbo of unilaterally announcing the Mbieri political bloc as being entitled to produce the next council chairman of Mbaitoli LGA instead of tabling the issue as an agenda before the leaders.
The Mbaitoli South Political Bloc recalled how Chief Nlemigbo allegedly ensured that his son said to be resident abroad, was appointed a Special Adviser,SA to Imo state governor.
The bloc equally hinted that the Mbaitoli APC apex leader was allegedly scheming for his Personal Assistant, P.A, said to hail from Orodo to emerge as Deputy chairman of the LGA in the currently scheduled Imo LG polls.
They went further to allege that Chief Nlemigbo nominated Chief Samuelson from Mbieri as an S.A to the governor, adding that they are tired of his alleged clannish leadership style.
Mbaitoli South Political Bloc made it clear that they no longer recognise Chief Nlemigbo as Mbaitoli APC apex leader.
The bloc went further to declare that the position of Mbaitoli LGA chairman is not zoned to any bloc but remains open to all the blocs in the LGA comprising Mbaitoli North, Mbaitoli South and Mbaitoli East.
The bloc reaffirmed its unflinching loyalty to the administration of Governor Uzodinma and his deputy, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, even as it attributed alleged poor performance of APC in Mbaitoli to Nlemigbo’s alleged style of leadership.
