There were shouts of joy and thunderous emotional outbursts as Prince Stephen Lemachi Nzeribe from Umutu, Umukeduru in Awara/Ikwerede Ward of Ohaji/Egbema LGA picked his nomination and expression of interest forms from the state headquarters of the Imo All Progressives Congress, APC state Secretariat in Owerri, Monday, July 15.
The people whose joy knew no bounds expressed hope that Prince Lemachi is the right candidate and a round peg in a round hole who would deliver the dividends of democracy to them if given the chance.
In their various speeches respectively, some of the sons of the soil like Chief Kenneth Ekwueme, Hon Emeka Nwulu and others on behalf of the people expressed strong faith that Prince Lemachi has the charisma to serve his people as they in turn pledged their unalloyed loyalty and support to ensure that their son and brother clinched the ticket for the enviable seat.
To make their intentions fully known and felt the people who came out en-masse to show their solidarity and support for their best were seen with some prominent sons and daughters of the area.
Among those who graced the occasion were Prof Vitalis Nwulu and his wife, Dr (Mrs) Nina Nwulu.
It wi Recall that Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma had recently promised that the state would conduct a local government election by the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) in September this year as coincidentally local governments in the federation have recently been granted the right to enjoy their Autonomous status by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
