…Vows To prioritize Security of Lives,Property If elected LG Chair
On Monday, July 8, the Njaba LGA Chairmanship hopeful, under APC platform, Hon.Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi (Etiokwe-Njaba) condemned in strongest terms the gruesome killing of three members of community Vigilante outfit and an innocent girl who was hit by stray bullet in Uba, Umuaka in Njaba Local Government Area on Sunday July 7 by yet to be identified gunmen.
In a Press statement through his spokesman/ Director,Media/ Publicity of his Campaign Organization, Rt. Comr Chimezie Odoemenam, Hon. Obi, who cancelled his already planned trip to Abuja for an important event, arrived the scene of the ugly incident alarmed.
He later proceeded to the families of the four slain victims of the assault on a condolence visit to sympathise with them.
In his condolence message to the bereaved families of Messrs Tochukwu Opara, Emeka Iwuala, Chigozie Iheonwuneme and Miss Chinaza Anunuso, respectively, the people’s leader flayed the sordid incident and called on them to take solace in the Lord who is the great comforter and prayed for the quick recovery of those in the hospital, who sustained severe injuries, and eternal repose of the deceased.
The LG chairman hope also asked the Almighty God to grant their families the fortitude to bear the colossal losses.
Omere Njaba Juo Oyi,as he is also called reiterated his genuine concern and commitment to ensuring that adequate security of lives and property, and general well-being of Njaba people shall be his utmost priority, if by the special grace of God he is elected by the people as the Executive Council Chairman of Njaba Local Government.
He recalled that during his stewardship as the Sole Administrator of the Local Government between August 2022 to January 2023, that he was able to put in his best efforts and functional strategies in ensuring that adequate security of lives and property of Njaba people was guaranteed.
He encouraged them to work in synergy to keep faith with the Action-Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma in his relentless efforts in tackling insecurity and criminality around the state for a safer Imo of people’s collective desire.
In their respective appreciative remarks, the representatives of the traditional ruler of Uba, Umuaka Ancient Kingdom, HRM Eze Henry Izuchukwu Ojinnaka, Hon. Chief Hyginus Opara, another community leader, Capt. Nwege (Rtd.) thanked Hon Obi [Etiokwe-Njaba] for his rare magnanimity, humility, selflessness and compassion for making out time to commiserate with the bereaved families and the entire Uba community during their sobering moment of grief.
Also, the Chairman of Umuonyiriegbe village, Hon. Hippo Ohiri, the Youth president of Umuezikeoha village/Commander of the Vigilante group, Mr. Uchenna Osuji, and the village Secretary, Comrade Lucky Duru expressed their deepest delight receiving Hon. Obi and his team for coming to sympathise with the families of the deceased and the community in general .
They described him as an exemplary leader who sticks with his people during thick and thin for being the first compassionate eminent personality to visit the scene of the incident, their community and various families of the victims barely 24 hours after the tragedy.
They also commended him for such a pragmatic leadership disposition amidst palpable fear, uncertainty, anxiety and immense grief across the Akah Nation.
As John Maxwell aptly said; we cannot choose how many years we will live, but we can choose how much life those years will have.
And those who lost their lives in the course of saving others have paid a supreme sacrifice as Christ did on the cross of Calvary and shall receive the crown of victory before the Lord.
