Anger is raging in some quarters as personnel of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO, Imo Motor Parks and others dissolved some months ago are allegedly still operating in collaboration with some government officials who are sabotaging the appointment of new teams to take over.
Investigations revealed that those opposed to the continued operation of the dissolved teams say that further stay in office does not augur well for effective internally generated revenue for the state.
They allege that leaks in the system that led to loss of revenue and lack of accountability will continue if fresh personnel are not appointed to take over soon.
Investigations further revealed that the promise by relevant authorities to appoint fresh teams soon after the dissolution of the former ones which has not been fulfilled is akin to extension of the rot in the system.
It was also gathered that some members of the dissolved teams in the various agencies have allegedly intensified efforts at lobbying within government circles for re-appointment.
Meanwhile, checks revealed that the reported anticipation of fresh appointments by the powers that be possibly in October, may not be unconnected with the Local Government elections slated for September 21.
