Governor Hope Uzodimma Of Imo State has officially handed over a state-of-the-art, electronic tollgate at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport to The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The tollgate, located at the airport’s entrance, was donated by the Imo State Government to enhance the airport’s beauty and functionality.
According to Governor Uzodimma, the facility aims to improve traffic management and provide quality service to airport users.
He acknowledged that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu had earlier commissioned the airport’s road, and now, the tollgate is ready for use.
The Governor inspected the facility to ensure its optimal functionality before handing it over to FAAN.
The airport manager, Mrs. Nkechi Ihekwuaba, welcomed the Governor and expressed gratitude for the beautiful structure.
She requested the Governor’s approval for FAAN to commence using the tollgate.
The Chief of Staff, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, and some members of the State’s expanded Executive Council joined the Governor for the handover ceremony.
The electronic tollgate is expected to enhance the overall airport experience for travelers.
