A former speaker of the Imo House of Assembly, Rt Hon Kelechi Kennedy Nwagwu, says it is still quite early for politicians to start overheating the polity with talks about which zone of the state takes over from the incumbent Governor, Hope Uzodinma in 2027.
In a chat with Nigeria Newspoint ,recently, the outspoken former IMHA speaker said what the governor, Senator Uzodinma needs at the moment is the support of all well meaning Imolites to continue to deliver dividends of democracy to the people, instead of the on-going distraction over which zone should produce the governor’s successor in 2027.
Nwagwu said that three years before 2027 was still a long time for anybody to start fighting over Uzodinma’s successor, insisting that the what is important under the present socio-economic circumstance, is massive support for the governor to continue the good job he has been doing in the state.
The ex-lawmaker went on to counsel politicians and stakeholders in the state to give the Governor a breathing space to allow him deliver more democracy dividends to the people.
