“No motion, but announcement used to sack them”
The Imo State House of Assembly has,on Tuesday, Yesterday, July 2,suspended four of its Lawmakers over an alleged plot to remove the Speaker, Rt. Hon.Chike Olemgbe.
The suspended four Lawmakers are; Hons.Chidiebere Ogbunikpa, Okigwe Constituency, Samuel Otuibe, Ahiazu Mbaise Constituency, Henry Agbasonu, Ezinihitte Mbaise Constituency and Dominic Ezerioha of Oru West Constituency.
The suspension of the Lawmakers did not come as a motion, rather it came through an announcement at the floor of the House by the Speaker,Rt Hon OLemgbe who revealed that the Lawmakers were suspended for inciting other members and scheming for his impeachment,an act he termed as an
unparliamentary conduct capable of disrupting legislative process of the House.
Effort to reach the suspended members proved abortive as their contact Telephone numbers were unable to get through.
Meanwhile, Nigeria Newspoint gathered that many Imolites have condemned the action of the Imo state Assembly Speaker and other Lawmakers for taking alleged wrong decision which is capable of truncating the fragile peace in the House of Assembly.
They argued that the reputable state House of Assembly would suspend its members without serious proof of any illegal act against the House.
They said the House was proved to the action following Media reports that all is not well with the Lawmakers in terms of peace.
