…As Declares for Aboh Mbaise Council chairmanship
In what looks like a dramatic turn of events, the chairmanship aspiration of Hon. Dr. Vitalis Onuoha has gotten a boost following the reported collapse of structures of major political parties in the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area.
The development is said to have sent shockwaves across the political landscape in the area, as key members of the Labour Party, People’s Democratic Party, among others, have allegedly pitched tent with Onuoha’s camp.
Speaking with newsmen at his Okeuvuru, Aboh Mbaise country home shortly after his ward declaration for the last weekend, Onuoha who declared to contest for the Aboh Local Government Chairmanship position, based on the request by his people, thanked the momoth crowd from different political parties in Okeuvuru Mbaise for coming together to show solidarity for him in his bid to become the next local government chairman. He also promised never to let them down.
“I’m here today to say thank you to the people of Okeuvuru for the confidence repose in me, and also inundate you the confidence the Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma has repose in me and by experience I’m eminently qualified, by loyalty I’m eminently qualified,” Onuoha stated.
The Okeuvuru-born philanthropist, assured his people that he would practically demonstrate the true meaning of Shared Prosperity mantra of the governor.
According to him, “my charisma and vision have attracted a large following, causing a significant shift in the political dynamics of Aboh Mbaise. The defections have weakened the opposition parties.”
Hon. Onuoha, the Aboh Mbaise political juganut described the development as a “political earthquake” that will have far-reaching implications for the upcoming elections, adding that his campaign team has welcomed the defectors, promising a united and strong front in the quest for chairmanship.
The collapse of opposition party structures has raised questions about the future of politics in Aboh Mbaise as Onuoha’s ambition appears to have unified former foes. The development is seen as a significant boost to Onuoha’s chairmanship bid, making him a strong contender in the All Progressive Congress (APC) race.
In his own view, a major stakeholder and an APC stalwart in Aboh Mbaise, Hon. Chief Ikenna George (Onwa Lodge), hinted that he felt very delighted on Dr Onuoha’s aspiration for LGA chairmanship position stating that he has all it takes to drive Aboh Mbaise to the next level, Chief George, who had the ambition to run for the forthcoming LGA chairmanship position, said he had to step down for Hon. Onuoha and also support him achieve his goal.
Chief George, described Hon Onuoha as a man with vision and one who has the interest of people at heart, very much approachable and accessible, adding that if given the opportunity he would bring forth an unprecedented development to the local government.
